Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started with TradeStation

Can I automate TradeStation trades from TradingView alerts?
Yes. Connect your TradeStation account to Autoview, then add an Autoview command to a TradingView alert or any webhook. When the alert fires, Autoview reads the command and places the order on TradeStation for you, with no manual step.
Which markets can I trade on TradeStation through Autoview?
TradeStation gives you US stocks, ETFs, options, and futures, and Autoview can automate orders across them. Your alerts can place those orders the same way you would by hand.
Can I try Autoview on a TradeStation Simulated account first?
Yes. Connect a TradeStation Simulated account and automate it the same way as a live account, with no real funds at risk. Autoview routes it through the TradeStation simulator endpoint, so your setup and commands match live trading.

TradeStation order types

Does Autoview support stop-loss and take-profit orders on TradeStation?
In part. Autoview can place a standalone stop order to limit your losses and a standalone limit order to take profit on TradeStation. There is no stop-loss or take-profit attached to your entry in a single command, so you send the protective order as its own order rather than as a bracket.
Can Autoview place trailing stops on TradeStation?
Yes. TradeStation supports trailing stops, and Autoview can place one that follows the price by a set amount or percent as the trade moves in your favor.
Can I send an entry with its stop-loss and take-profit in a single alert?
Not currently for TradeStation. Multi-leg and OCO bracket commands are not available for TradeStation through Autoview. Send your entry first, then place the stop or the limit close as a separate order.

Platform and security

Does Autoview run TradeStation in the cloud, or do I need the Chrome extension?
Both work for TradeStation. The cloud webhook platform runs your automation on its own, so nothing needs to stay open on your computer. If you would rather execute on your own device, the Chrome extension can run TradeStation too.
How does Autoview connect to my TradeStation account securely?
You connect by signing in to TradeStation through its secure OAuth2 flow, so you never paste a raw API key. Autoview stores the access token encrypted, uses it only to place the orders you trigger, and never writes it into your alerts.
