In the article below, you will find the steps required to generate the API in OKX before then adding it to your Autoview configuration.
Note: When using the Autoview.com Trading Extension, you will need to specify the Exchange:
e=okx
e=okx-demo / e=okxdemo
Generating the OKX API credentials
Whether you are setting up the Webhook Platform or the Trading Extension, you will need to configure Autoview to communicate with your OKX account.
- Once you have logged into OKX:
- Click on the Profile Image
- Then API
- Click on the button labeled: + Create V5 API key
- Several fields will be required your attention before your API key can be created:
- API name - memorable identifier (e.g. autoview)
- Passphrase - a secure string assigned to the API key
- IP address (optional) - @see section below
- Permissions - check both Read and Trade
- Email code - clicking Get code will email you
-
Google Authentication - provided using your device
- Copy both the API key and the Secret key to your Autoview account settings.
-
When using the Trading Extension: Once copied, enter the Passphrase and perform a test by clicking Test Credentials. Watch for a Green Banner confirming a successful test.
If you would like to now perform your first Test Alert, please refer to the knowledge article titled Testing and Debugging Guide and follow the steps provided.
IP Address - Create V5 API Key
Although the IP address field is optional, there are few items to clarify:
-
For higher security, link IP addresses to your API keys
- When using the Trading Extension, the IP address will be the machine running Autoview and Chrome. Please use services like https://ipify.org/ to resolve IP addresses.
- When using the Web Platform, the IP address will be based on available Zones. Please contact support via email to discuss the IP addresses for these machines.
-
API keys without IP addresses are automatically deleted if you do not use them for 30 days.
- If you are a frequent trader (at least once a month), you could skip this field.
- If you have minimal usage or could have lengthy delays between signals, you will need to recreate API keys every month if you do not add an IP address.
