2.1 Creating an Autoview account
Creating an Autoview account is a simple and automated process. Once you install the extension, an account will be created for you using the email address currently logged into your Chrome browser. The account creation process will be completed within 10 minutes of installing the extension. All subscriptions and email notifications associated with Autoview will be sent to this email address.
2.2 Connecting Autoview to your exchange(s)
To connect Autoview to your desired exchange(s), follow these steps:
- Install the Autoview browser extension from the Chrome Web Store or by navigating to autoview.com and clicking the Get Autoview button in the top right corner.
- Once installed, click on the Autoview extension icon in your browser toolbar.
- Click the Change Settings button at the bottom of the popup.
- You will first need to provide permission for Autoview to communicate with the exchange, so navigate to the permissions page in the left menu and enable the exchanges you want to use.
- Return to the Autoview extension settings, scroll down to the "Exchanges" heading in the left sidebar.
- Select the exchange you want to connect with from the drop-down list.
- Enter your exchange API keys (which you'll obtain in the next section) and save your settings.
2.3 Configuring API keys and permissions
To configure API keys and permissions for your exchange account, follow these general steps (note that the process may vary slightly between exchanges):
- Log in to your exchange account and navigate to the API settings or management page.
- Create a new API key (you may need to provide a name or description for the key).
- Ensure that you enable the necessary permissions for your API key, such as "trade" or "order" permissions. Avoid enabling "withdraw" permissions for security reasons.
- Copy the API key and secret (if applicable) to a secure location. You will not be able to view the secret again after navigating away from the page.
- Enter the API key and secret into the Autoview extension settings (as outlined in Section 2.2) and save your settings.
2.4 Troubleshooting common setup issues
Some common setup issues and their solutions include:
-
Incorrect API key or secret: Double-check that you've entered the correct API key and secret in the Autoview extension settings. If necessary, generate a new API key on your exchange and update the settings in Autoview.
-
Insufficient API permissions: Ensure that your API key has the necessary permissions to perform the desired actions, such as placing and managing orders. Review your exchange's API settings and adjust the permissions accordingly.
-
Unsupported exchange: Verify that the exchange you're trying to connect to is supported by Autoview. If your exchange is not supported, consider requesting support for it from the Autoview development team or exploring alternative exchanges.
-
Browser or extension issues: Clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser, and make sure the Autoview extension is up to date. If problems persist, consider reinstalling the extension or trying a different browser.
-
Connectivity problems: Check your internet connection and ensure that your exchange's API is not experiencing downtime or issues. Reach out to the exchange's support team if necessary.
If you're still encountering issues after trying these troubleshooting steps, consult the Autoview documentation, community forums, or contact the Autoview support team for further assistance.
